Spring rolls round again...

One bonus of the changing of the seasons in France (asides from the usual joys of cracking out your shorts for the first time and bringing a Frisbee with you when you leave the house), is that here you notice the change on the markets. Suddenly new smells are working their way into your nose, alien vegetables that you haven’t seen for a year are sneaking into your basket.  I came back today with spring onions (!!) and some beautifully red, tiny potatoes. One reason we love seasons is that they allow us miss the things we love, making it ten times better when spring for example rolls round again with flowers, sunshine and frolicking lambs, or autumn with its beautiful colours and mushrooms. So why aren’t we like the French and keep our veg seasonal? I missed spring onions, It’s a pleasure to see them again. I’m glad we went on a break.

Now just have to think of what to cook with them!
